If These Walls Could Talk

My good friends, Nikki, Slam and their daughter Olivia, live in a beautiful 100 year old home, here in Vancouver. Since this is a very young city, 100 year old homes are considered ancient and are becoming quite rare. Nikki has just launched a blog, "Home for 100 Years", in hopes of locating past residents, then having a garden party later this summer/early fall. I love this idea. Maybe you know someone that lived there. If so, she'd love to hear from you!

Nikki is British, and their home reflects that. She has called the look "English eccentric", which is a perfect description. Here's a peek....

For more information on Nikki's search, check out Home for 100 Years.

Have a good day!

What a refreshing style! I love the homey and lived in look she created - so welcoming. I could see myself sitting in her home for afternoon tea. I also LOVE her idea! It is sad to see this character homes being destroyed around Vancouver.

I collect Cornishware too! I've always dreamt of having a Welsh Dresser to show the collection off too. Very envious now. Fab images Janis.

Such a neat idea and project! I hope Nikki's able to track down those past residents or their families. Oh, the memories and stories! I'm curious what the outside is like...I've been into drawing old homes lately. ;)
